WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
"Why are there so many different churches?"
I hear this question all the time. Do you? It
is a very logical question. How can so many
different churches teach different doctrines and
all say they are following the same God? Is there
a problem here?
What does the Bible say? First of all, the
problem is not with God's word, but with men.
"For God is not the author of confusion but of
peace." I Corinthians 14:33
The Bible is understandable. Ephesians 3:4 says,
"when you read, you may understand."
And Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me,
'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
Matthew 7:21
If two bakers follow the same recipe, and one
makes a pie and the other makes a cake, it is easy
to conclude that one or both did not really follow
the recipe. The same applies to the question at hand.
During the next few weeks, we will attempt to
cover a few of the answers to the question, "Why are
there so many different churches?" We will discuss
the unscriptural notion of "unity in diversity" and
show how Jesus taught exactly the opposite.
Do you have an answer to the question? We would
like to hear from you. We invite your reply.
